Foods that can overcome acidity.


Acidity is a common health issue seen in people even in children. It feels like a burning pain, commonly known as heartburn. The reason for this situation is due to several stomach abnormalities, stomach acid tends to flow back to the food pipe which causes like a burning effect in the lower chest region. The reasons behind acidity depend on many factors, maybe a long time gap between meals, high amounts of spicy foods, overeating of food, regular tea, coffee intake, etc. There are some foods we can use to overcome this burning effect up to an extent. Let’s discuss it one by one.

 

Melon: Many fruits are in acidic like orange, etc but melon is a sweet edible, fleshy fruit that can reduce the acidity nature. It is always good to have a few slices every day during having food.

 

Honey: It has been a practice for a long time to use a glass of lukewarm water mixed a spoon of honey and some lemon juice on an empty stomach every morning can be the best choice to avoid acidity.

 

Basil leaves: The most advantage of basil leaves is they are easily available in your kitchen in case of unwelcome acidity issues. Basil leaves have calming properties to give you immediate relief from acidity. chew and eat few basil leaves or boil some basil leaves in a cup of water after boiling for some time and take it to sip by sip up to a stage you get relief from the pain.

 

Fennel seeds: In India, we can see fennel cups in the hotel because there is a habit of chewing it after having food. The reason behind is fennel seeds work better for avoiding acidic nature. Also, fennel teas are common right now which helps for better digestion and avoid bloating and indigestion feelings

 

Buttermilk: A class of buttermilk with sprayed black pepper or cumin seed powder can easily help you to regularize acidity in the stomach even after a heavy or spicy meal because of the lactic acid in buttermilk is capable of doing this.

 

Cardamom: Cardamom energizes digestion and helps reduce stomach spasms by calming the inner lining of the stomach. Thus helping to reduce the bad effects of excess acid created in the stomach. Whenever you start feeling acidic trouble, take a couple of pods of cardamom, crush them and boil it in water. Let it be cooled for sometimes after drink it to get immediate relief.

 

Coconut water: Coconut water benefits alter your body’s pH level from acidic to alkaline and also shielding the stomach from the adverse effects of acid generation.
